Dr. Wynne-Edwards has over 30 years of experience developing technology companies and currently is President of Terracy Inc., an innovation management company. From 1993 to 2000, he was President and Executive Chairman of B.C. Research Inc., an innovation incubator and sciences contractor in environment and biotechnology. Dr. Wynne-Edward was Scientific Director, Chief Scientific Officer and Vice President, Research and Development of Alcan International from 1979 to 1989.

He is also Chairman of Silvagen Holdings Inc., and the Canadian NeuroScience Partnership, and is a Director of Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd., Cellfor Inc., Coldswitch Technologies Inc. and the NeuroScience Canada Foundation. In 1991 Hugh Wynne-Edwards was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the Canadian Academy of Engineering. He has served on numerous government advisory bodies including NABST, the Prime Minister´s Advisory Committee on Science and Technology from 1997-2000. He has been CEO of Moli Energy Limited (1989-90) and Science Advisor to Teck Corporation (1989-91); Assistant Secretary for Universities in the federal Ministry of State for Science and Technology (1977-79); and Professor and Department Head of Geological Sciences and Engineering at the University of British Columbia (1972-77) and Queen´s University (1959-72).

Born in Montreal, Dr. Wynne-Edwards holds an Honours B.Sc. in geology from Aberdeen University, M.A and Ph.D. degrees from Queen´s University, and an Honorary D.Sc. from Memorial University.
