Dr. Jan P. Dutz, M.D., FRCPC, As an associate professor in the Department of Dermatology and Skin Sciences, University of British Columbia, Dr. Dutz offers both basic science and clinic expertise in multiple areas of medical and pharmaceutical sciences. After completed his MD (Queen’s University), Dr. Dutz was trained to become an Immunologist in three world-class Immunology research laboratories in University of Toronto, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and University of British Columbia. He holds Fellowships in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Internal Medicine, Rheumatology and Dermatology.

Dr. Dutz is an active and productive clinician scientist. He has won research grants as a principal investigator in numerous basic and clinical research projects addressing various diseases including psoriasis, arthritis, eczema, dermatitis, melanoma, autoimmune diabetes, alopecia areata and lupus erythematosus. He has also been honored many personal awards by various scientific and funding organizations. Dr. Dutz has numerous publications and presentations in national and international forums.

He has served as an advisory member in scientific and clinical organizations including National Institute of Health (USA), Canadian Institute of Health Research, Canadian Dermatology Association. Dr. Dutz is currently an Institute Advisory Board Member for the Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis, Canadian Institute of Health Research.
