| Welichem's March Update |

Greetings from us at Welichem! Hope you all have had a great Easter holiday.
In the past month, we have initiated a Clinical Trial on eczema that was just approved by Health Canada . It’s estimated that the clinical treatments on patients will finish at around the end of June.
As described last month, Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, relapsing inflammatory skin disease usually called eczema. Although many available treatments can ease or eliminate the symptoms associated with the illness, there is no current cure for eczema. The global market value for eczema treatment products was approximately $2.5 billion in 2005; the market size will surely grow since the prevalence of eczema in children has risen significantly over the past few decades. The most popular drugs in the market for eczema treatment are topical calcineurin inhibitors Elidel and Protopic. However, both brands have experienced steady decline in sales due to concerns over their potential carcinogenic risks; US FDA has issued warnings against their use on infants. Doctors and parents also express hesitation to treat children with any topical corticosteroid. These factors demonstrate the huge market potential and unmet need for a mild, topical, small molecule eczema treatment like WBI-1001.
In addition, we are devoted to the pre-clinical development of WBI-2100 for therapeutic treatment in oncology. Preliminary studies on WBI-2100 have indicated significant therapeutic potential against solid tumours concurrent with increasing the number of neutrophils (white blood cells).
As always, Welichem will keep you posted on its progress through future newsletters
