Welichem Announced Change of Board Members

BURNABY, BC, Jan. 25 /CNW/ - Welichem Biotech Inc. (the "Company") (TSX-V: WBI), announced today that Mr. Weihe Wang and Mr. Zhaofang Zhang resigned as directors of the Company and that Mr. Wenfeng Liu and Ms. Mingrong Lu joined the Company as directors, effective January 24, 2008. The Company would like to thank Mr. Wang and Mr. Zhang for their valued contribution to the Company.

Mr. Liu is a very successful entrepreneur and is Chairman of the Board and a founding shareholder of Hebei Wenfeng Iron and Steel Co. Ltd. He has held senior management and executive positions in various companies in China. Mr. Liu is a principal of Canadian Maple Leaf Investment Ltd. (CMLI) that is one of the major shareholders of the Company.

Ms. Lu is a very successful entrepreneur and a founding shareholder of Hebei Wenfeng Iron and Steel Co. Ltd. She has held management and executive positions in several companies in China. Ms. Lu is also a principal of Canadian Maple Leaf Investment Ltd. (CMLI).
